God is with you now. Take this moment to speak to Him. He will always listen.
Christians speak to God in prayer just as they would to another human being. When we pray, we can be totally honest with God.
If you’re upset or ill or haven’t prayed for a while, you may like to pray some or all of the following….
Heavenly Father, I want to thank you for:
this opportunity to pray,
your promise of peace,
the beauty of the world,
all those whom I love & who love me.
Thank you for loving me, for dying on the cross for me & rising again.
I am sorry for the times when I have:
been hasty and unkind,
thought or acted selfishly,
failed to forgive or ask forgiveness,
forgotten your presence and taken your love for granted.
Lord I thank you for your promise to forgive my sins
I pray for others, for:
my family, friends, neighbours & colleagues,
people I find it hard to like,
those who are ill or mourn,
the oppressed & those suffering disaster or war.
Bless them Father and show me ways I can help.
Lord please help me when I am anxious for myself or others.
Help me to trust your love, for you carry our sorrows.
Teach me to act and speak in the way you want.
Calm my fears for all things are in your hands.
And when the disciples asked Jesus how they should pray, He replied:
Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
thy Kingdom come,
thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
